Mobile, in-clinic & online speech therapy services for young children & adults in South East Melbourne
ABOUT US
At Engage, we understand and embrace the beautiful diversity of different forms and styles of communication, which may arise from different types of brains, cultures, and/or life experiences.
We aim to empower and support children and adults to engage meaningfully and authentically in the things that matter most to them; including their unique interests, participating in their communities, and nurturing genuine relationships.
At Engage, we value…
-

Connection
Children thrive when they feel safe, understood and genuinely connected. Building trusting relationships is at the heart of everything we do, creating a space where children feel comfortable to explore communication in their own way.
-

Collaboration
Meaningful progress happens when families, educators and therapists work together. We take a holistic approach, supporting communication across the environments and relationships that matter most in a child’s life.
-

Care
Every child and family we support is approached with deep care, empathy and intention. Therapy is thoughtful, personalised and grounded in a genuine commitment to each child’s growth, recognising that every communication journey is unique and deserving of understanding and respect.
-

Curiosity
We approach every child, family, and situation with curiosity and an open mind. We value lifelong learning and continue to grow by integrating evidence, lived experience, and the perspectives of those we work alongside. We listen deeply and seek to understand each family’s unique needs.

Preschool/Kinder Screening
This screening helps identify communication and early literacy difficulties in preschool-aged children.
It highlights each child’s strengths and any areas where support may be helpful, so families can access timely guidance and strategies before starting school.
Parent Education Sessions
Designed for parents of children aged 0–6 years, these sessions provide practical guidance on early communication and developmental milestones with a focus on strategies to support children’s skills at home, in daycare, or preschool settings – a space to ask questions and to help you feel confident in supporting your child’s communication journey.
DIRECTOR | SENIOR SPEECH PATHOLOGIST (MSPA, CPSP)
Meet Eloise Wright
Hi, I’m Eloise - an experienced Speech Pathologist passionate about helping young children communicate, connect, and engage with the people and world around them.
I specialise in early childhood communication development (0–6 years), supporting young children to express themselves, build relationships, and participate meaningfully in everyday life. I also provide therapy for adults requiring support with communication, bringing the same warmth, respect, and individualised care to every client.
I take a strengths-based, neuroaffirming approach to therapy. This means recognising that every child communicates in their own way, and supporting them to build skills while feeling understood, respected, and confident in who they are. Drawing on evidence-based frameworks, therapy is play-based, engaging, and family-centred - supporting parents and carers to embed communication strategies into everyday life.
Since graduating with a Master of Speech Pathology from the University of Melbourne in 2013, I have worked across hospitals, community services, and private practice to support children and adults with a wide range of communication needs. This breadth of experience allows me to tailor therapy to each individual child and family, while staying grounded in what is practical and meaningful in real life.
As a mum of two young children, I understand the juggle of family life and how important it is to feel heard, supported, and confident in the decisions you’re making for your child.
At Engage, my goal is to create a warm, welcoming space where children can thrive, families feel supported and empowered, and communication is celebrated in all its forms.
CONNECTION. COLLABORATION. COMMUNICATION.
Eloise’s Therapy Approach
At Engage, therapy is child-led, play-based, and grounded in neuroaffirming and evidence-based practice. I prioritise connection and relationship as the foundation for all communication development, recognising that children learn and thrive best when they feel safe, regulated, and genuinely understood.
-
Therapy begins with relationship, trust, and regulation. I focus on building strong, responsive connections, following the child’s lead, and creating a space where communication develops naturally through shared enjoyment and interaction.
-
Play is at the heart of my practice. I use each child’s interests to guide sessions, creating engaging, sensory-rich, and developmentally appropriate opportunities for communication, interaction, and learning.
-
I take a neuroaffirming approach to supporting communication, recognising and respecting differences in how children communicate, learn, and regulate. I focus on understanding each child’s unique communication profile and strengths, and supporting meaningful communication that enhances participation in everyday life.
-
Therapy is practical and functional, supporting children to use their communication skills across everyday environments - home, childcare, school, and the community - so that progress is meaningful beyond the therapy room.
Alongside my work with children and families, I also provide adult speech pathology services. My approach is warm, authentic, and person-centred, supporting adults with communication needs in a way that is respectful, collaborative, and grounded in meaningful, everyday goals.
If this feels like the right fit, I’d love to connect and explore how I can support you or your child’s communication journey.
As a parent herself, Eloise values genuine collaboration with families, ensuring they feel heard & supported while navigating their child’s communication journey with confidence, understanding, & respect for each child’s individuality.
CONNECTION. REFLECTION. GROWTH.
Clinical Supervision & Mentoring
I provide individual clinical supervision and mentoring for speech pathologists seeking a supportive, collaborative and reflective space to grow in their work while navigating the broader demands of life and career.
Grounded in over a decade of experience across hospitals, community and private practice, and shaped by my perspective as a clinician, a parent, and a small business owner, supervision is thoughtfully tailored to each individual.
Whether you’re a new graduate finding your feet or an experienced therapist navigating complex presentations, burnout, or transitions such as stepping into private practice, building a business, or balancing the demands of parenthood and career, this is a space where the realities of our work are understood and respected. Together, the focus is on developing clarity, confidence, and practical next steps so you feel supported in making decisions that align with your values.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in real-world experience. I value curiosity, compassion, and honest conversation, and aim to create a space where you can reflect openly, feel understood, and continue to grow both personally and professionally.
If this resonates with you, I would be happy to connect and see whether this feels like the right fit for your needs.

If you have any concerns about your child’s communication, seeking advice early is the best first step. Early support can help prevent any challenges from becoming bigger barriers over time.
Speech therapy can support a range of areas including speech sounds, language development, literacy, and social communication.
An initial assessment can help determine whether therapy is needed and whether any additional supports or referral pathways may be helpful, ensuring your child receives the right support at the right time.
-
The initial assessment is a relaxed and engaging session guided by your child’s individual presentation. It’s an opportunity to get to know your child’s strengths, interests, and communication style, and may include a combination of informal observation, play-based activities, structured tasks (where appropriate), and discussion with you about your concerns and goals.
From there, preliminary feedback will be discussed, and personalised next steps will be decided upon together. My aim is for you to leave the assessment feeling heard, supported, and with a clear plan in place.
-
Every child is different. Some children benefit from short-term support, while others may need ongoing therapy. Goals are reviewed regularly, and therapy plans are adjusted to suit your child’s progress and needs.
-
Yes, parent and caregiver involvement is encouraged wherever possible. Being part of sessions helps you understand the strategies used and how to support your child’s communication in everyday routines.
The involvement of the people who spend the most time with your child – whether that’s parents, carers, or other key adults – is especially valuable in supporting carryover of skills into daily life.
-
No, a referral is not required to access speech therapy services; you can self-refer. However, if you/your child would like to access a Medicare-rebated program, a referral from your GP will be required.
-
Session frequency depends on your child’s individual needs and goals. This will be discussed following the initial assessment, with recommendations tailored to best support your child’s needs.
-
